Stainless steel socket welding, a popular type of flanges is widely used for small diameter pipe under high pressure. The functions of socket welding flange are similar to slip-on flange. Both of them can be used to connect two pipes. Compared with slip-on flange, the smooth bore on socket welding flange allows better fluid flow. When being welded internally, the static strength of socket welding flange is equal to slip-on flange while the fatigue strength is higher than double welding slip-on flanges by 50%. Sometimes, socket welding flange can replace of slip-on flange, being used for pipes.
