Carbon steel welded neck flanges are commonly used in piping system. They connect with pipes by butt welding. Compared with other types of flanges, the price of welded neck flanges is quite high because of its long neck. The flanges are suitable for high pressure for the neck transmitting pressure to pipe and decreasing stress concentrations at the base of flanges. The bore of welded neck flanges is equivalent to the bore of pipe, reducing turbulence and erosion.
