ASME/ANSI B16.5 slip-on flanges are also called as slip-on welding flanges. Pipes are inserted into inner bore of flanges, then connecting with flanges by overlap welded. Just as lap joint flange, slip-on flange is also used for low pressure low temperature. Compared with other types of flanges, slip-on flanges are easier for centering, having low prices. For that, slip-on flanges are widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, power, etc.
