ANSI B16.5 lap joint flange utilizes turnup or steel ring to set flange on pipe. The flange can move on the pipe, using turnup or steel ring as its sealing face. Flange makes turnup or steel ring connect with pipe tightly. Flange does not contact with medium directly because it is blocked by turnup or steel ring.
